Message from the Principal

Fáilte romhaibh go léir go dtí ár suíomh idirlíon.

Welcome to the website of St. Canice’s Boys’ National School.  I hope this website will give you an understanding of the work, activities and happenings in the school.

Our school started its life on this site at the junction of Ballygall Road West and Glasanaon Road in 1971 and has developed into a vibrant, welcoming and supportive community in the heart of Finglas.  While we are a Catholic school, and operate under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin, we are inclusive and we welcome children of all faiths and traditions.  St. Canice’s Boys’ National School is a vertical school, catering for pupils from Junior Infants to 6th Class with 2 classes at each level.

Our school community includes almost 400 pupils, 29 teachers, 7 Special Needs Assistants, secretary, caretaker and ancillary staff.

We are fortunate to have an active Board of Management and a very supportive parent body, represented by our hard-working Parents’ Association.

St. Canice’s BNS is a happy, welcoming and active school where everyone gives of their best and where all of our staff strive to help our pupils flourish in all aspects of their development.

We hope that this website helps you to get to know us in St. Canice’s BNS and we extend to you a very warm welcome to this website and also to our school community.

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Tim Walsh

Principal
