1st Class - Room 1

Room 1

Before Christmas Room 1 were preparing for the Christmas Concert. Their hard work paid off and everyone should be so proud of how well the did! In the run up to Christmas we had a surprise visit from Santa, it was very exciting!

In January we were learning all about Antarctica, the boys in room 1 are now experts on the topic. The class went on Antarctic adventures through dance in PE, we created lots of amazing art work and we learned all about who lives there and the importance of saving the icebergs for the emperor penguins!

Room 1 also participated in lots of fun activities as part of Friendship Week. We made buddy bracelets with our friends in 6th class and played group games in the hall with the help of the boys in 5th class!

Maths in Room 1

The boys in Room 1 are doing great work in maths so far this year. Once a week the class play maths games to work on different skills and concepts in fun ways. Every table has a different activity and these are rotated weekly. So far this term there have been games that help with addition skills, shape recognition and making patterns. The class have also enjoyed playing maths games on the ipads.

Library Visit

In September, we walked over to the new Finglas Library. It was very exciting as it had just opened. The boys had a lovely time browsing through the selection of books, taking time to read some stories and even colouring in pictures. The boys enjoyed looking for books we had read in class as well as finding new books that they might like. We had a great morning in the library and look forward to going back again soon!
