3rd Class - Room 17

Room 17’s Blog (3rd Class)

We’ve been super busy having fun and learning lots of new things together in Room 17.

First off, we had a blast when our parents came to visit us at school. They joined us for a special game day, where we played board games together. We had a fantastic time bonding with our families.

Next up, we levelled up our language skills by learning how to use a dictionary. We discovered how to find the definitions of words we didn’t know, which is super helpful for understanding what we read and write.

Then, we got artsy with some snowman-themed painting! With brushes in hand and colourful paints at our fingertips, we created beautiful silhouettes for our winter art project. We added our own special touches to make each snowman unique and special. Our classroom turned into a winter wonderland of creativity!

Last but not least, we got into the holiday spirit with a trip to the National Stadium to see a Christmas panto called ‘Sammy, Buffy, and the Beanstalk’. It was an amazing show filled with laughter, music, and magic. We were mesmerized by the colourful costumes, catchy songs, and hilarious jokes. It was the perfect way to get into the festive mood before Christmas!

Thanks for joining us on our journey, and we can’t wait to share more adventures with you soon!

Room 17’s Blog (3rd Class)

In Room 17, our 3rd class has had an exciting and educational journey so far this year. One of the highlights was our trip to the Swimming Centre in Finglas, where we got to improve our swimming skills and have a tonne of fun in the pool. We also embarked on a new sports adventure by starting basketball training, which not only helped us stay active but also taught us valuable teamwork and coordination.

In our history lessons, we dove deep into the Stone Age and its fascinating cave art. It was amazing to learn about our ancestors’ creative expressions through art and to create our own cave art inspired by their works.

Additionally, we’ve been busy in our Gaeilge studies. We’ve mastered the basics of question starters like “who,” “what,” “when,” and more.

Last but not least, we’ve started our recount writing journey, where we’ve been able to share our own stories and experiences in a structured and engaging way. It’s been an excellent opportunity to enhance our writing skills and express our thoughts more clearly.

So far, our year in Room 17 has been filled with memorable experiences and valuable learning, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us.
