Senior Infants - Room 6

Room 6

We have had a wonderful start to our first term. We went on a lovely autumn walk to Johnstown Park, where we gathered leaves and looked for signs of Autumn all around us. The boys enjoyed playground games in the lovely sunshine in September.

We did G.A.A skills with Laura and we were sad to say goodbye to her. We started basketball and yoga. We learned all about homes and even constructed our own homes. We are now looking forward to Halloween.

Room 6

The boys have had a really enjoyable term. We had great fun during Active School’s Week. We had sports day where the boys participated in all sorts of fun activities, such as egg and spoon, sprints, games, sack race and football. We had a great football match which seemed to be the highlight for the boys.

We enjoyed   a wonderful trip to Malahide playground. We had lunch in the rain! We had a visit from the ice-cream van and even had Teddy Bear’s Picnic in the classroom, due to the rain!

The parents were invited in to read with their sons and completed fun activities based on the story. This was such an enjoyable day for the boys.

We are preparing for our school tour today to Causey Farm and we hope to have a really splendid day.

Room 6

The boys have had a really enjoyable term preparing for their Christmas show which was a great experience for everyone involved. The boys grew in confidence each week and all their hard work certainly showed on the day. We also had a lovely visit to the local library where the boys got to experience the new library and did some lovely colouring and reading. We had a wonderful day at the Panto. During Friendship/Anti-Bullying week we created Buddy Bracelets with the help of the 5th Class boys and had great fun playing cooperative games in the hall.

Room 6

We have had a very busy term in Room 6. The boys have been learning about Autumn in Aistear. We created hedgehogs, did some leaf rubbings, painted our own Autumn trees using hand and finger prints and made stained glass leaves. In Maths, we have been sorting and creating patterns. We also wrote some sentences about Autumn. We enjoyed learning new skills in Gaelic football and hurling with Laura every Friday. We have recently started our Yoga which the boys are really enjoying.
