5th Class - Room 15

Celebrating a Fantastic 5th Class Journey!

The past five months have been filled with excitement, discovery and fantastic achievements for the boys in 5th Class.
The boys put tremendous effort into their Science Blast project, “How Paper is Produced from Trees”, where they investigated the paper-making process through research and experimentation. They searched the internet to explore how paper is made, trialled different methods of creating their own paper, and designed informative posters. Their hard work and creativity were recognised at the RDS, where received an award for their fantastic ideas.
In English, we really enjoyed reading the novel Holes, developing their comprehension skills and exploring the different characters throughout the story.
During April, we learned all about the Artemis II mission to the moon, discovering the roles of the four crew members and creating impressive space shuttle artwork.                     Recently, the boys have enjoyed exciting science experiments, creating projects on the Famine, learning how to weave, showing great teamwork and enthusiasm during Sports Week, and representing the school at football blitzes and fun days in local secondary schools.

5th Class are finishing the year on a high, with lots of wonderful memories, new skills and achievements to celebrate!

Room 15 are off to a flying start!

The boys have settled back into school life with great enthusiasm and energy. It’s been a busy few weeks filled with fun, learning, and creativity across all subjects.

In Gaeilge, the boys have been expanding their vocabulary and mastering new phrases around the topic Mé Féin. Their artistic talents have really shone through in Art, where they created wonderful ‘The Real Me’ self-portraits and vibrant September Sunflower Sunsets.

In Geography, Room 15 have been exploring the island of Ireland – locating all 32 counties on the map and discovering the many mountains, rivers and lakes throughout the country.

The boys also had the fantastic opportunity to visit Finglas Garda Station, where they learned all about the important role of the Gardaí and the different organisations they work alongside. A highlight of the trip was getting a peek behind the scenes at the station – and, of course, meeting and petting the Garda horses!

It’s been a wonderful start to the year for Room 15, and we can’t wait to see what adventures and achievements the next few weeks will bring!
