GAA

St. Canice’s BNS have a strong tradition of participation in Gaelic Football and Hurling.  We participate in Cumann na mBunscol Gaelic Football and Hurling competitions annually.  We also participate in the Fingal Schools League in Gaelic Football each spring.  We have a strong link with Erin’s Isle GAA Club and we are fortunate to have their Game Promotion Officer, Laura, visit the school.  Laura works with a range of classes, teaching children the skills of both Gaelic Football and Hurling. 

We also have a number of teachers with a keen interest in Gaelic Football and Hurling who volunteer to train school teams in both sports.  We are very fortunate to have a very skillful group of players who always try their very best every time they take to the field.  Our pupils always represent the school extremely well and we always ask our pupils to encourage each other and to be respectful towards the opposition and match officials.
